I think this is a great idea for Father’s Day. I can think of countless lines my dad has said over and over that annoyed the living crap out of me. This card is pretty darn close to one of the ones that bugged me the most. I can think of countless times where the cheapest product was bought because “price doesn’t matter”, but only having it end up breaking soon after first using it. Sometimes… just SOMETIMES, it’s true that you get what you pay for. For all those years that you had to listen to these sayings, it’s time you can now give them back. There’s a whole series of these from this designer. Found this on humorous Father’s Day cards.

This is one of those cards that I refuse to give a description for. If you need to know what this means, go to urban dictionary and enlighten yourself. A great card for the boy toy of your life. Much more could be said about this but really, it speaks for itself. Found this card over on page 2 of funny Father’s Day cards.

This is one of my favorite Father’s Day card designs I’ve come across. It’s very simple, clean, and has an overall retro look to it. For me atleast, anything using retro styled faces and colors is a big win. I found this design on the Father’s Day Cards page. It’s a shame the designer didn’t make a whole series with this.

First Kiss I was almost done today looking around for great or horrible card designs when I came across this beauty. I was looking for all kinds of valentine cards and ended up looking at the romantic cards page where I found this. Except for the ancient 2006 copyright notice on the back, I don’t think there is a more romantic card in existence. Cute kids are almost a guaranteed win when sharingwith the lady friends. I’ve probably seen this painting before. It’s one of those classics that just keeps popping back up over the years in various places.

Shoot Down Love Bravo Designer! He says quite openly “Do you hate Valentine’s Day and everything about it? Shoot Down Love” with this card. I’m sure many single people won’t be buying this, but many will be sharing the feelings of this very heavily. I never understood the whole concept of anti-valentine’s day cards. Who does someone buy them for if they’ve got no significant other? Do they buy them for themselves? Surely there’s no point in opening it then if that’s the case. I found this beast over on the “I hate valentines day cards” section which fits it so very well. Again, another vector design. Two thumbs up.

Love Lions greeting card I thought this was a pretty good idea for a card initially, but after I looked at it closer, I realized it deserved to be mentioned. The idea is cute and Valentine’s day worthy which isn’t all that hard to accomplish, but it gets extra points because of how it looks like it was made with. Simply put, designers who use illustrator to make their greeting cards get an extra thumbs up from me. Not only are their graphics high quality and never blurry, but they can be used again over and over and resized/repositioned without fudging up the artwork. It takes much more thought and precision to make them, but that’s why I’m giving this one the time of day. I found this when searching for will you be my valentine cards and came across many other cards worthy, but the vector imagery got my attention. Well, either that, or the bright pink background. Either way, I like it. The artist didn’t destroy the card with his/her signature either. It’s put classily into the corner and their website mentioned on the back in a decent styling unlike the card I mentioned a few posts back.

Be My Valentine I don’t particularly enjoy the dark sadness of emo styled things. That goes for music, clothes, myspace-y glitter graphics, and really anything associated with the way of life. Being in tune with your feelings doesn’t mean it has to be dark and twisted. This card I unfortunatelty have to say is one of the best I’ve found. I’m a real sucker for hand-drawn artwork that looks like a kid made it. This card is just that in that you can clearly see it was drawn with markers and then scanned in to the computer to be put on this very card. There’s something to be said about very clean and to the point artwork like this. I would never get it myself, but if there were a few edits like removing the cloud and replacing the face with just a sad, non-emo person, I might have considered it. It would have still been cute and the lady friend recieving it wouldn’t be depressed by it. Regardless, there seems to be a big market for emo cards. I don’t know if they’re selling, but there sure are a ton of them being designed as you can see over on the emo valentine cards page where I found this creation.

“St. Valentine” Fine Art Just like the Obama card, there’s probably a small niche for just about any style and form of Valentine Cards. This one shows another end of the spectrum with a very popular category. This shows an old masters painting created into a Valentine’s day card. This one in particular is being marketed by the designer as a christian valentine’s day card which happens to be the same place I found it on over on the christian valentine cards page. The designer of this knows his/her audience very well. He’s choosing very conservative imagery and made the inside customizable so it isn’t a deal breaker if the text isn’t just right.
The only thing I’m not liking, and not liking very strongly is the big block of color on the back with the person’s gallery. It’s eye catching but makes the otherwise amazing card look cheap.
